Tasha T’s musically journey began with a Best Female Newcomer in 1999, and since then, she has been honoured with commendations, numerous nominations, and awards. Her most recent accolade in 2024 is the Spotlight Award for her popular single ‘Jamaica It Nice’ from the 8 th Annual
ReggaeXclusive Recognition Award in Toronto, Canada. In recognition for her humanitarian efforts, Tasha T was selected as the Award Recipient, for ‘Compete for Peace and Not War’ competition, by The World Citizen Artists (WCA), Bob Marley Foundation, Ghandi Foundation, and Belgravia Gallery, for her inspirational composition Spread Some Love.
Tasha T has also made history of being the first-ever reggae artiste to be nominated
for Best International Indigenous Release at the Indigenous Music Awards and
invited to perform at their show in Winnipeg, Canada. This achievement helped to
strengthen ties between reggae music in Canada and the Indigenous Community.
Tasha T’s talent and contribution have been acknowledged on a national level as
well. She has been a Two-time Juno Nominee for Best Reggae Recording at the
JUNO Awards for her “Real Talk” Album and her single “Dem Need More Love”.
The Governor General of Canada awarded Tasha T for the Queen Elizabeth II
Diamond Jubilee Medal for her dedication to her peers, community, and Canada.
Her contribution was described as “most commendable and deserve our praise and
admiration.” by HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
